  1. P Middy Says:

'Tis no man. 'Tis a remorseless scorin' machine!

  2. Jason J Says:

I'm starting to see more and more Durant jerseys walking the streets of New York. I wonder how much his performance for team USA has to do with that.

  3. Neil Paine Says:

He's been flat-out ridiculous this tournament. If they win this thing, it's going to be a major plus on his "All-Time-Great Resume". (Also, memo to self: "All-Time-Great Resumes" could be an awesome series of posts.)

  4. Jason J Says:

    Timothy Theodore Duncan

    Work History:

San Antonio Spurs Starting Forward-Center 1998-Present

    - Led team tomNBA Championship 4 times.
    - Voted NBA's Most Valuable Player 2 times.
    - Voted NBA Finals Most Valuable Player 3 times.
    - Voted All Star Game Co-MVP in 2000

    ...that idea has legs.

  5. Nick Says:

Didn't Simmons sort of do that already in his book?

  6. Neil Paine Says:

You're right, I checked and he does list player "resumes". How did I forget that? (To be fair, I haven't looked at TBoB since I had jury duty in May... Btw, that thing is great to read while you're waiting to be selected.)

  7. Matt Says:

Could you explain what the pure point rating is? It's not in the glossary.

Billups stats have turned themselves around in just 2 quick games. He was 3 of 16 from 3 coming out of group play. Hopefully he doesn't go cold again.

  8. Neil Paine Says:

    Pure Point Rating = 100 * (Lg Pace / Tm Pace) * (((AST * 2/3) - TOV) / MP)

Btw, I fixed the "Glossary" links above; for some reason they were redirecting to the home page.

Also, Durant was amazing today. 38 points on 14-26 FG with only 1 turnover... And the rest of the starters went just 3-for-17 from the field. He's been carrying Team USA for basically the entire tournament anyway, but today was unreal.

  9. P Middy Says:

I like amazing stuff. KD went 9-13 from 2 point range. 5-5 from the line. TS = 63%. 9 boards. 38 minutes.

  10. Matt Says:

Ah, I have been looking at the glossary section through about. Thanks for that.

So, negative ppr is good or bad?

I'm not sure amazing quite describes how Durant played today.

What is Durant heading for this season? 35 ppg? League MVP? Can the Thunder challenge for the west title?

  11. Anon Says:

Sorry fellas, but Kobe Bryant is the best player on this team. Bar none.
